ITALIAN ARTIST EXCHANGE ASSOCIAZIONE CULTURALE ART 1307

JUNE 3-30, 2010

Reception: Sunday, June 6, 2010, 1-3PM at Union Center, 3-5PM at the Brewery Annex         Conversation with the artists: 4PM at Union Center, 2PM at the Brewery Annex

LA Artcore is proud to announce its first exchange show with Associazione Culturale Art 1307 in Naples, Italy entitled, LATITUDE 34-40. The exhibition at LA Artcore Brewery Annex features the works of Neapolitan artists Stefano Cianella, Daniela Morante and Gloria Pastore. The exhibition at LA Artcore's other venue located at Union Center features Neapolitan artists Marco Abbamondi, Caterina Arciprete, Fabio Borrelli and Ligurian artist Mirko Baricchi. These artists employ various disciplines - including painting, photography and sculpture. Watch the video of this exhibition.

The show serves to continue LA Artcore's contacts and dialogues with an international community of artists and arts professionals and it equally serves to promote this extended cultural interaction within the greater Los Angeles community.

The featured Italian artists collectively offer us not only a cross-cultural vantage point from which to experience and construct their works, but they allow this perspective to be a lens for their works which find themselves caught between the ever-shifting dynamics of locale, nationality and gender/identity in an increasingly global context. LA Artcore is pleased to welcome these artists and mutually involve them  through Los Angeles’ many cultural attractions.

The second part of this exhibition will take place at Art 1307 in November 2010 and will feature artists Richard Aber, Ann Gooding, Mark Steven Greenfield, Carlo Marcucci and Yoella Razili.

This exhibition is made possible thanks to the Italian Consul General of Los Angeles, the United States Consulate General of Naples, The Regione Campania and the Micucci Design Collection.

LA Artcore is dedicated to expanding the interaction between artists and audiences. The organization provides a platform to encourage the exchange of information, ideas and feelings, facilitates the awareness of the essence of creativity through regular exhibitions and conducts “Conversation with the artists” hosted by representatives from the Board of Trustees. We share with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds an opportunity to observe contemporary art and to interact directly with the artist. Artists in turn gain insight and clarity about their work through communication with a broad-based audience.
